It's Sunday, so that means it's time once more to delve into the vault and dig out some more "Classic StarStrikers". This was a filler page for the StarStrikers webcomic, posted somewhat belatedly on March 6, 2004.

Pepsi Generations was my little way of commemorating my fifteen years of Pepsi fandom - 2/3/89 was the broadcast date of the infamous Madonna "Like A Prayer" video, an event that impressed a nine-year old me sufficiently that I kicked my Coke habit and never looked back. Hence here we have young Corinne with a late 80's Pepsi can (note that it's from C-Jo's local Pepsi bottler, hence "SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA'S CHOICE"), and teen Corinne with what was then the current US Pepsi design.

At the time I was genuinely concerned that readers of the comic would be offended by my subservience to a multinational conglomerate soda brand. That, or I'd be faced with a revolt from the Coke drinkers amongst them. To my surprise, the feedback I got on this piece was universally positive.

If I was doing it today there's a lot of things I would change. I find teenage Corinne looks kind two dimensional. I'd go back and work on the shading to make her "pop" more - no pun intended. The shapes of the cans look a bit odd to me, I'd want to fix that too. And once again the denim rears its ugly head - it is SO not congruous with her character!
